Tornado Catching

PDF: Tornado Catching

You will need: Scarves, Balls, Pinnies

How to play: Divide the group into partners, giving each pair a ball or a scarf. Partners stand about 3 feet apart from each other with one partner facing their back to their partner. Partner with ball/scarf will say left or right, designating the direction their partner is to turn to face their partner and then catch the ball or scarf.

Modifications:

  1. Adjust the distance between partners (farther will increase difficulty and closer with decrease difficulty)
  2. Change the object the partners use to make it more difficult (small ball) or easier (light scarf).
  3. Add in challenges such as partners start on their stomachs and must jump up and then turn to catch the object. Try two objects at a time or calling out opposite demands (“right” means turn left and “left” means turn right).
